This muscle car will make you really happy, folks. Chevy is to bring pure joy for the 2014 Camaro Z/28. And this is what the public is waiting for since the very beginning of modern muscle car era.
The idea behind Z/28 always was track-focused performance and setup, so even though “Zee” is not that much powerful as ZL1, it is faster. Z/28 features naturally aspirated 7.0 liter V8 that develops 505 horses and 481 puond-feet of torque. The transmission choice is none – the only one is Tremec TR6060 6-speed manual. Performance orientated updates include dry sump lubrication system, liquid-to-liquid cooling system for the engine oil (just like in the ZR1 Vette), stronger Torsen helical limited-slip diff, lightweight carbon ceramic brakes, 19-inch alloys with Pirellis. The suspension got serious upgrades with much stiffer springs and Multimatic DSSV dampers, got lower stance and much more stiffness every wehere, actually. More that 190 parts are unique – that says alot.
Chevy even says it is not ment to be driven as daily driver. It lost much weight by eliminating everything what is not neccesary for performance (300 puonds less than ZL1 Coupe). And they expect to sell only a half of what ZL1 does.
Designwide 2014 Camaro Z/28 is a bit tweaked 2014 Camaro. Slight changes to the rear and front fascias do the job well enough. The functional aerodynamic updates are front splitter, rear spoiler, hood vent, redesigned rockers and fender flares.
