automobilemag.com reports, that GM is to offer a 4-cyl 2.0 liter turbocharged engine for their new 2016 Camaro. It is gonna develop 272 horsepower. Naturally, this engine is a logical rivalry responce to Mustang’s 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine (305 HP).
Report says the car itself will look much like the current generation and is expected to feature heritage cues from the 2nd generation 1970 1/2 Camaro.
Technically, it will be based on long-wheelbase version of GM’s Alpha platform (same that is used for Cadillac CTS). This choice will make the new Camaro’s wheelsbase 2.3 inches longer than the current one and even 7.5 inches longer than the all-new 2015 Mustang.
