Muscle car enthusiasts will not stop arguing on this. It is especially hard to rank the best ones when there’re so many good cars. Most will probably agree, that the best muscle car era is already far gone. The best muscle cars, the ones with true muscle soul and power were produced in 1965-1972 period. Period. Many good one came later, but that was the golden era.

10. 1970 Buick GSX (2% of votes)
True muscle, classic body lines and primissed exitment. Only 678 GSX Coupes were made.
9. 1968 Pontiac Firebird Coupe (3% of votes)
Pure beauty, Camaro’s cousin. The brand (Pontiac) and the model (Firebird) had and has many lovers. Technically, it was almost a twin brtoher of Camaro, but real enthusiast argue that fact by saying that Pontiac was more inovative and essentially different.

Iconic car. Pick any muscle car enthusiast, and he’ll definitely name 69 Charger as one of his favorite car.
7. 1970 Boss 302 Mustang (7%+ of votes)
True muscle car warrior send to rival theCamaro. Boss 302 V8 was made for Trans-Am races. People say it goes mad in hih-revs.
6. 1965 Pontiac GTO (11% of votes)
GTO, known as “Goat” too is unmistakable Pontiac. Imagine 335 horses out of 389 cubic engine back then. Awesome muscle car.
5. 1970 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda (11%+ of votes)
426 HEMI & full redesign. Who cares about handling. 425 horsepower will get you 1/4 further in low 13s.
4. 1970 Chevelle 454 SS (13% of votes)
Chevelle. It sounds better than “sex”. The 454 cubic engine delivered amazing 360 horses with a chance to upgrade it easily up to 450 HP [LS6]. The output og this engine basically showed the limit muscle cars could reach.
3. 1969 Z28 Chevrolet Camaro (14% of votes)
That’s first generation Camaro. For many this is best looking generation ever. Z28 was equipped with small block 302 engine that was originally designed for Trans-Am racing series.
2. 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 (15% of votes)
Half-breed. Half english half american. The true groly came, when Shelby took AC Ace roadsters body and empowered it with Ford’s 427. This gave an enormous power and success in racetracks. True legend known best as Cobra, not AC.
1. 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 (17% of votes)
GT500 was actually a factory-tuned Mustang. The job was done by Carroll Shelby when he put 428 cubic Police interceptor engine into GT500 model.
