Dodge brought their Charger R/T Concept back in 1999. The audience loved, the critics were silenced, but there was no production line for this concept. Why?
It took so many styling cues from the 60s Chargers. Well, it had the same problem as current Chargers have too – the 4 doors. But in 1999 designers tries to blend the back doors so nicely you may think it is a 2-door coupe first. The R/T concept has functioning side scoops, central mounted exhaust system and the possible fuel source of… compressed natural gas.
Even though the LX platform Charger was a very nice muscle car too, the 1999 Charger R/T Concept would have probably gone a bit further.
