The newest limited edition of the latest S550 Mustang is done in association with Richard Petty and his aftermarket performance shop Petty’s Garage. The result is called Mustang GT King Edition.
King Edition GT comes in 3 limited run variants:
Mustang GT King Edition at $67,495. Limited to 243 units.
Mustang GT King Premier Edition retails for $90,495. Limited to 43 units.
Mustang GT Premier Convertible. Limited to 14 units.
The most noticeable feature is the Petty Blue exterior stripes and ground package. The same Petty Blue is also used on custom 20-inch HRE wheels with Continental Extreme Performance summer tires. Custom rear diffuser and a center-exhaust (designed by Richard Petty himself) complete the looks.
Perfornmance-wise Petty slammed a supercharger onto standard 5.0 Coyote V8 that resulted 235 more horses to bring the total of 670 HP. This was not enough, so they added a cold-air intake, MagnaFlow exhaust and did a custom engine calibration to generate freakin’ 727 horses. The power is so huge the car could fall apart so Petty’s Garage installed extreme-duty TrakPak Ford Performance half shafts, three-way adjustable sway bars on the front and rear, and a rear axle upgrade.
